Restoring the Village Weekend Events

Thursday, June 6 is the Village Keepers Award Banquet. Last year the community raised $50,000 dollars for an Indian River State College scholarship endowment that will offer kids in our village a chance to go to college. We need to raise another $50,000 this year to solidify the endowment, allowing the interest earned to helped many more to break the cycle of poverty. Please consider joining us at the Kight Center at 6 pm. Tickets can be purchased by calling 772-461-0749 or stopping by the office at 4075 Virginia Avenue, Ft Pierce, FL 34981.

Friday, June 7 is the Youth Educational Symposium. This is an inspirational event with former and current Fort Pierce residents that overcame adversity and went on to do great things. Volunteers are needed the day of the event to assist with registration, guidance for students and presenters, and for coordinating distribution of lunches. To sign up or for more information, please call Janice at 772-461-6622.
Please encourage youth to attend to learn more about conflict resolution, personal responsibility, character building, and future planning, as well as obtain information about historically black colleges and universities. Registration begins at 8:30 with a program start of 9am.

Our greatest need is for volunteers at the Saturday, June 8 Beautification Day. Volunteers will pick up trash, paint homes, spread mulch and have fun along Moore's Creek and 25th Street! Please register at www.Restoringthevillage.com and mark your calendars to join us at Avenue C and 25th Street between 7 and 2 pm. Pre-registered volunteers will only need to collect their wristband and t-shirt the day of the event!
